Kimailis entered the longhouse with the group of Militiamen with the knowledge that he would get to speak with the leader of the area's Militia. That was such a diverse group speaking with the woman he knew to be Lucilla Rookwood somewhat surprised him. He quickly gave the room a scan with with his green eyes, taking in as many details as he could before facing Lucilla Rookwood. Kimailis removed his cowl, ran a hand through his short dark hair and nodded his head toward Lucilla.
"My name Is Kimailis Malash." He said with some difficulty forming the human language. "I was to travel to the town of Flynrest to attend a meeting between Consultori Vaudagna and a man named Wainwright." Kimailis stumbled over the human name but continued without prompting. "I missed the Elvish party before they crossed into your lands. While I was awaiting their return, I overheard that orcs were raiding the area. I felt that if Elves were missing in this area and we had a diplomatic mission speaking to the humans, I should investigate the Orcs. I crossed your border, evaded your border guards and have been tracking Orcs, trying to find their lair." He motioned towards Reggie and continued. "The group of Orcs that I was following attacked your people. I couldn't just sit back and do nothing. Honestly, I would have evaded your group after the fight but I am down to two days of rations, lack the time to live off the land and I find myself in need of information."
Kamailis paused for a moment. "So I surrendered to your men, in the hopes that I could buy some rations and get more detailed information about the area." He looked Lucilla right in the eye and finished. "They said that I must come before you and be judged."

Nathrak lookes briefly at rookwood and baxk to kimailis. "The Consultori was not pleased with your tardiness kimailis we waited as long as we could before continuing on to flynrest. If you were going to cross over into astahar lands you should have met with us there." after speaking his peace he continues to watch the scene unfold.

(Thinking to herself) ... could this be one of the elves who attacked us? I don't trust this one. Not at all....
(Speaking to Garrett)
I don't like this nor do I trust this elf. This is really suspicious that he just showed up here after all the fighting we have endured. This lone elf just happened to be all the way up here looking for kin.... I don't buy it! Not at all!! He is here to gather data on us. You deal with this elf, I'll worry about the Orcs and figure out what else I can find out about these ruins.... Every legend has some truth to it. I am going to find out that truth..

Nathrak slams his staff down to cut off the dwarf's rant. "That is quite enough of your accusations now unless for ince you have a shred of proof please be silent. This is no spy, had he been a spy then it is likely these militiamen would be dead in a ditch and he would not be here at all." nathrak swears quietly in elvish and waits for garret to say...anything.

Reika gestures broadly to the party, "Speculation and distrust. I am beginning to think it is a life goal for some persons. Luftasa, if you feel you are best to handle both the Orcs and any investigation into possible origins, then please begin. With Lucilla's permission, I would like to speak with Kimailis further to determine if he speaks true. The truth is hard to hide from a bard." Reika does her best to keep her expression calm and confident.

I understand your anger at my mistrust but until we are sure I don't think we can trust anyone but our group. How do we know he is being truthful. Nathrak if you are so sure he is who he says he is then please go talk with him. I am not in the mood to assess his intentions. I am sure I am not the only one who questions the events that have happened to us from Flynnrest to Quail Hollow. You need to control you anger and be willing to understnad hesitation for me to just take his word for complete truth.

Hugo not so under his breath says: "Each moment spent squabbling like children sees the threat growing while we accomplish nothing to thwart it. No spy would willingly surrender unless he were so great a threat it would not matter. We are close to treading the path of folly."

Garrett raises an eyebrow at the arrival of the new elf. With the explanation that he is looking for his kin has things pointing to the common idea that the elves are looking for “something” or perhaps “someone” and that something maybe the same thing but possibly for different reasons. He will have to confront Nathrak about this soon, but perhaps now is not the time. Whoever these elves of interest are they will have to wait…
Garrett clears his throat, just enough to catch the attention of everyone.
In a calm and steady voice “While this is troublesome for a multitude of reasons, Quail Hollow is under siege from the Orcs and have requested aid in the defense of this area.”
Garrett looks to Lady Lucilla. “Ms. Rookline, my men and myself are at your disposal for immediate actions for the defense of this town. In fact, speaking for this band I believe we are all here to help the town.”
“I am here for the people of Astahar, this is your town, tell us what needs to be done first and we will get it done. I do not want to over step my bounds but if you’d like to discuss your current patrol routes, currently all the resources we have to work with I can help with some suggestions based off my experience to help strengthen the current defenses and then we can look for ways of investigating the cause of these raids and maybe plan for counter attacks to weaken any further advancement from the north.”
You can see genuine concern on Garrett’s face.
“Ms. Rookline we will help your people, my people. I can get a head count of able bodied persons that can carry a sword my men and myself can start running some basic drills and take inventory of what armaments that are currently at your disposal. Lutasa and her dwarven companions I have heard are good with stone, maybe they could inspect the surrounding areas and possibly help fortify Quail Hollow a little bit better, Nathrak here seems good with healing and can tend to those that maybe injured and help along recovery rates of any militia that are currently out of action. Hugo can work with the patrol parties and scouts to see if there are anything he can learn of the current patrols based on the map to help us from being surrounded and maybe find a patterns that may have been missed. Reika, could probably assist with that as well.”
“Again Ms. Rookline these are some suggestions that I offer for you, I mean no disrespect nor am trying to tell you how to do things, just offering suggestions. If there is something, I’m missing or if there is immediate danger then we will have our swords drawn and ready until our last breath.”
“For Astahar! For Quail Hollow!” Garrett shouts to the room trying to boaster the moral of well pretty much everyone.

"Be judged? That sounds ominous," she said, looking over at Reggie. Reggie gave her an expression that said "really?" and shrugged his shoulders. The two seemed to know each other very well. Neither had to speak to know what the other was thinking.
Lucilla's expression seemed calm, and her inspection of Kimailis did not seem harsh. There were so many new faces and new problems to process, which only added to the stress she was already under. She was overwhelmed, make no mistake, but she seemed relatively cool under the pressure.
"Mr. Kim," she said, both not wanting to butcher his name, and not wanting to insult him, either, "given the circumstances, I hope you can understand how unusual it is to find a lone Elf roaming freely past our borders, in our woods, and among our people. Right now, Astahar can ill afford spies. I'm not calling you a spy, but I really don't know what else to call you," she said, inspecting him again under a slightly harsher gaze.
"However, I do not celebrate the practice of swatting a helping hand. So, this is going to be one of the rare situations where shit rolls uphill. Your countryman here," she said, referring to Nathrak, "came under a seemingly official diplomatic banner with one of my country's border guard. I'm going to give you to him. Of course, Nathrak is under the supervision of the good Corporal here... " she said, turning to look at Garrett to make sure he understood what she was getting at.
Lucilla did not seem to be the type to succumb to despair. She seemed like the type to get angry, and then focused. She was equally as frustrated as Reika and Hugo with regard to the squabbling. She was tempted to give them all a piece of her mind, but Garrett cleared his throat and attracted her attention, and led her thoughts away from her frustration, the squabbling, and back to the issue at hand.
"For Astahar! For Quail Hollow!"
The eruption of voices, including from Lucilla Rookline, was thunderous. While the morale of the militia was not abysmal, there could be no doubt that they were weary; weary from battle, from hunger, and worry. But in spite of their tribulations, they did not seem to lack a sense of purpose.
"Corporal, consider yourself and your people deputized into our militia. Whatever help you all can offer, be it as a soldier, scout, healer, knowledge about our enemy, or any other kind of help, we are grateful to accept it. I give you the authority to organize my men into an efficient force. You all seem to have skills far more specialized than that of simple farmers, so we are happy to learn from you. Just remember that it was a group of simple farmers that held the line," she said. The militiamen nearby her all grinned, nodded their heads and chuckled proudly.
"Just consult me first if there are any big decisions to be made."

Hugo is satisfied that some semblance of organization and direction is taking shape. He moves toward the map and enquires about opinions for where to begin scouting the orcs. "Have you a couple of men who are good at tracking? I am able to move in and observe without being spotted fairly well but my tracking skills are lacking - I would assist in this manner if you deem it prudent, Garret. I've no doubt you know it may prove useful if we could begin to understand exactly where the orcs are moving and focusing their numbers." With that, Hugo again steps back and observes the assembled town militia for any whispered conversations or behaviors that seem odd. He is still also skeptical that someone may be working within the town in some way.

Kimailis turned to Nathrak as he approached and spoke in Elvish. "My father volunteered me for the mission but neglected to inform me until it was possibly too late to catch up with your group in time. I can only guess his reason for that." He shrugged his shoulders (Nathrak might know of his father since both are members of the Infinitum).
Kimailis turned towards Lucilla after she spoke. "I will be happy to help out here if I can learn more about the orcs in your area." Kimailis was impressed with the morale of the militiamen, fighting for a town, seeing them act like a large family. It wasn't something he was used to seeing back home. "Their scouting parties for lack of a better term, are awfully aggressive. I was trying to follow a group back to their camp but due to the amount of orcs that were in the area, I was never able to get close." Kimailis frowned thinking back to the fight the orcs had with the militia. Something that had been bothering him the whole time since. "Right after the fight when I met your men... There was a lone orc north of us that watched the fight. He seemed..." Kimailis struggled with the right word. "Indecisive, maybe. He looked like he was about to charge down at your men until I made contact with them." Kimailis furrowed his brow, it was really bothering him. "I'm sure he wasn't happy about the loss of his orcs but he didn't seem really thrilled to see me with your men. Perhaps I am reading too much into this." He looked to Garrett. "Until we defeat these Orcs and I can answer my questions about them, my bow is yours to command."
