Garrett, still reeling from the events of the past hours sighs heavily at the amount to do in a short time.

The elven attack has thrown a bone into his objective. He lost two good men to the elves and hoping he didn't lose another good man as a messenger. He couldn't trust just a bird to deliver a message back to Lt. Sembelyn. He had no choice, word spreads quick but without eyes that where on the ground explanation is meaningless. He hoped that Robert will make it back to HQ without elven problems.....Garrett had no other suitable options, he has a date with the Orcs in Quail Hallow.

He can't dwell on that decision. He made the decision that was right at the time. Now to other matters.

The Dwarf's plan to leave at night was a good idea, considering that even if those pointy eared bastards could see better at night than humans it would still be a better chance of moving through any stragglers that could possibly attack the caravan. The cover of darkness will work.

With everything that is happened Garrett has not had the chance to follow up with Wainwright. That will take place shortly, if he has any troops to go north good, if not, so be it. With the state of the town after the attack I doubt any of his personal guards or local militia will be able to abandon their post to go on an "orc hunt"

"Jenkins..." Garrett shouts

"Yes Sir." - Jenkins

"Get the word to the others that we are leaving at dusk, get any supplys that are needed and get ready to move."

"Roger that"

Garrett washes his face and prepares to walk over to Wainwrights house.

As he walks to the house he says to himself

"Give me a Sickle, plow, or sword any day over having to sweet talk people...."

Garrett would be stopped in the foyer of Wainwright Manor by Phillip, the house's butler. He would be offered refreshments while he waited for the master of the house to receive him. It wouldn't take more than a few minutes for Garrett to be whisked away into the dining room that is often used as a meeting room. The party had met with him there in the first place.

Mr. Wainwright walked into the room, but stopped and turned back to the door. He began speaking quietly to someone in another room, who was not visible. But after a few quiet words, he turned to Garrett. The man was obviously preoccupied with his thoughts, no doubt distraught over the recent attack.

"Corporal, it is a pleasure to see you again. I understand that some of your men were lost in the battle. Please know that they have Flynrest's eternal gratitude. They will not be forgotten..." he said, pleasantly.

"How can I be of service to you?"

"Mr. Wainwright, thank for meeting with me again, and thank you for the gratitude but please know it is our duty to take actions in the way we did to protect the people of Astahar from things such as this."

"The main reason we traveled to Flynrest with this envoy was to request additional man power for our travel up north on behalf of orders from Lt. Sembelyn, to complete our mission at Quail Hallow. I do understand where that maybe too much to ask, in light of the recent attack, however I am bound by duty to ask anyway."

Garrett pauses and reflects on his own statement. He knows that this town is still shaken and any manpower spared by the town would decrease their own defenses dramatically. In light of the recent attacks by elves Garrett is almost hoping that Mr. Wainwright will say its not possible, but he still needed to ask.

"Duty and manners," Mr. Wainwright said, seemingly impressed. "You are cut from a different cloth than most of your compatriots..." he said.

"Ah yes, the militia," he said, sighing rather dramatically.

"I find myself in a very difficult position, Corporal. Lucilla Rookline requested men from all over to go north and help her. But now, it seems, we have an elven threat from the west, which is supposed to be handled by your Lt. Sembelyn. How can I send men north when the Elves have the capability to attack us all the way here in Flynrest? It pains me to say this, Corporal, but Flynrest must protect its own. I can offer no support, save for one. My man Sedgwick will join you. He is a capable man, and loyal. He will serve the cause well," he said.

"It is interesting to me that the Elves were able to get this far into Astahar. We have received no word from the border guards to the west. Did Lt. Sembelyn fall trying to stop them, or did he not notice them at all? Do you have any insight into these matters?" he asked, smiling pleasantly.

"It should seem as they are some how gaining ground through stealth and the shadows. I can assure you from my last meeting with Lt. Sembelyn that he is taking precautions and trying to contain the situation. However it seems as if they are flooding in at an increased rate by means yet to be discovered."

Garret pauses thoughtfully formulating his next string of words.

"I'm confident in my Lieutenant's ability, he has proven himself time and time again, if the problem is this bad here it must mean that this problem has escalated even more in the last couple of days since I have received my orders."

"I do thank you for what you can spare, and hope that we can take care of Ms. Rookline's issue with haste so that I can get the boarder-watch men back to our positions on the boarder."

If the Elves are able to bypass our defenses so easily, I must question the effectiveness of the border guard," he said, his brow raised as if he regretted having to say such a thing. "Oh, yourself excluded, Corporal. You have proved to be quite effective. I will pass along a good word in your name to your superior," he said, ever smiling.

"Do take care up north, Corporal. The Elves are bad, but the Orcs are worse. I have known Lucilla for many years, and she is often short on tact. I do hope she is able to temper herself to deal with the Orcs..."

"I will say my prayers for you, your company, and for the militia... " he said. "With the Halflings, Dwarves, and even Elves getting involved, the success of your mission could mean more than just Flynrest's and Astahar's safety," he said.

"You are welcome to stay in my home for as long as you like... " he said.
