Religion on Ashaerya is as unifying and polarizing as it is in real life. Gods, churches, temples, groves, idols and all manner of spiritual relics are worshipped. Much like in real life, everyone thinks that they are right, and everyone else is wrong. But this thread is not meant to describe just the figurative, capitol H kind of Heavens. It is also meant to describe the kind you see when you look up. No matter where you stand on Ashaerya, the heavenly bodies you see there are universal.
Eldeberath
The Eldeberath are the eight natural satellites surrounding the planet of Ashaerya. Their sizes vary from largest, Ruah, known as "The Unblinking Eye," to the smallest, Modus, "The Tiller." The satellites vary in shape, as well. As one can imagine, Ruah is large and round, much like a standard moon. Kalmr, "The Doppleganger" seems to have a new shape each day and night. Hedge wizards who study the heavens have determined that Kalmr is an oddly shaped satellite, and has an abnormal orbit around Ashaerya. One is able to see the many sides and valleys of Kalmr several times a day. On the other hand, Repaya, "The Wisp," seems to barely stay in orbit around Ashaerya. Repaya seems to be comprised mainly of crystal. With its small size and reflective surface, one does not see a moon, per se. Most people see an orbiting shimmer in the sky. The complete list and description of the Eldeberath is below.
Ruah - The Unblinking Eye:
Barolin - The Aegis:
Eudorn - Mourner's Mending:
Xenost - Vita's Heart:
Repaya - The Wisp:
Halnarem - Father Fire:
Kalmr - The Doppleganger:
Modus - The Tiller:
